Goodnesss gracious, time flies! We have been pretty busy + 8 month of pregnancy exhaustion = no blogging for 2 weeks.
I need to step it up. I am doing this for me, as a journal, as much as for family and friends. I will be better, I just need to set aside time at least every few days for the BLOG!
Lots of things that have been going on in the Phillips household. First off, as part of the Dallas Cowboys Womens Association, we had Poker for Pets on Thurday, June 6th at the Four Seasons here in Las Colinas. Our 3rd annual event raised $105,000 benefiting the SPCA of Texas!! It was a wonderful event and a very fun night.
Wes played and stayed in the game for a while, I was proud! Here are some pictures from the event, courtesy of the wonderful Kelly Alexander (also my wedding photographer)...

DCWA 2010/2011 Dallas Cowboys & Their Pets Calendars!!! They are AMAZING! They are sold in Cowboys Pro Shops and online at www.dallascowboys.com. Every Cowboy fan and/or pet lover should have one!
Saturday, June 12, was Top Hats and Tails, an annual event hosted by Preston Pearson benefiting Paws in the City. The event is much like Dancing with the Stars, a Dallas celebrity is paired with an Arthur Murray Professional Ballroom Dancer for the competition. This year Michelle Witten was representing the Cowboys. I was so excited and knew she would be good just from dancing with her at the Pro Bowl in Miami.
The guys had 2 practices on Saturday for mini-camp, so Wes wasn't able to come with me, so I tagged along with Laurie and Wade. Had to take a picture of Ivy and myself in the mirror, I liked my dress...and my bump!
Charles Haley and his wife and two daughters sat with us. They are super nice and he is very funny. Charles was there to judge the dancing competition, along with Kellie Rasberry from Kidd Kraddick and Claudia Marshall from Arthur Murray Dance Studio. Also, Michelle's family, friends and some of the other wives showed up to watch and cheer her on.
Before Michelle danced (she was the last one), her biggest competition was Olympic Gymnast Carley Patterson, who got a perfect score with her Lindy Hop. Michelle's dance was the swing and she was AMAZING!!!
She got 30 out of 30! One of the judges put her score down already.
It is just like Dancing with the Stars, the audience vote counts as well. So we all voted and MICHELLE WON! YIPPEE!
My mother-in-law, Laurie, is on the stage to present Michelle with the trophy because last year SHE WON!
They actually had the same partner, James. He is a great dancer and so so nice. He asked if I was going to do it next year...umm no. First of all, I am no celebrity and little Ivy will be so young so it would be too hard to get away. It would be fun though!!
Laurie is still taking the ballroom dancing lessons and competes! She went to New York in May for a competition and won first place in I think like 19 out of 20 dances...something like that. Anyhow, she and Wade danced after the competition was over.
I don't know why they all turned out so dark...frustrating!!
This past Sunday (the last day of mini-camp and day before vacation), was Family Day at Valley Ranch. We went to practice at 10:30 and oh my gosh it was so dang hot out there! I don't know how the guys do it, I was pouring sweat just standing there. I don't have any pictures :( but it was a fun day. We got to hold and play with all of the babies. Amy and Pat McQuistan just had a little boy Zac two weeks ago. He is soo cute and tiny!! I can't believe that I will have a baby that small in just ONE MONTH!
Wes and I decided on a middle name for our girl. Her name is Ivy Jo Phillips! Now we just are getting more and more excited and can't wait to meet her!
Here are a few pics at 33 weeks... I'm 34 weeks now though :)
Ok Wes may not be happy with me but I have to put these pictures up. Tyson, our little black poodle, loves Wes and loves to snuggle up to him at night. It is hysterical.
Tyson and Wesley sleeping back to back
And night before last both sleeping on their backs
I just got off the phone with my older sister, Lila. She and George are in Argentina. She is teaching there and he is visiting. I miss her! They will be here when Ivy is born though...maybe it will give her baby fever!
Ok Tyson and I are off to Gladewater to visit Mom and Dad and the boys (their dogs)...

Memorable Long Weekend
This past weekend started on Thursday for Wes and I. He was off Friday, this whole weekend and Monday!! He needed the holiday, he works so much and never gets to sleep in. EVER.
Thursday night was a girl's night and OH. SO. FUN. Two of the fabulous wives of our fabulous players, Taniqua Ware and Tiffany Bowen, hosted a private viewing of Sex and the City 2...on opening night! I invited one of my best friends, Corey, to go with me. There were SOOO many women dressed up and waiting to get in to see the movie and guess what, we didn't have to wait in line! We walked right into the theater, where we were handed a delicious Cosmo. Well, Corey was, I was handed a delicious ice water.
We stopped for a photo in front of every girl's love...GUCCI handbags...aka the raffle prizes! We had dinner and drinks served while watching our favorite fashionable characters. It was a great night and Corey and I laughed A LOT to say the least. P.S. neither of of walked out with a new Gucci but we scored a Sprinkles cupcake, and to a pregnant girl that just discovered sweets, Sprinkles trumps Gucci. Sad, I know.
We got home and got to watch another of my favorites, American Idol. It was good, I was so glad that Lee won. He seems like such a nice, down-to-earth guy. I would have been happy with either of them though. Crystal is great too and I am sure we will be seeing more of her at some point. It has to be said though, ADAM is still the best and I love him. I kept asking Wes and Corey, why he didn't perform and saying how much better he is than other winners. I'm obsessed!
It will be strange having American Idol without Simon and I wonder if Wes and I will watch it next season, I doubt it. I will just follow him to his next show!
Friday night, we went to dinner with Wes' best friend, Trey and his wife Tiffany. It was a delicious dinner. We took pictures but Tiff deleted the one of her and Trey and I looked tired but as always Wes looked good, so I cropped me out.
Saturday night, we went to dinner (we love to eat) with another coach, Keith and his wife Reigan. She is still in Ohio so the kids can finish out the school year but came to visit her man and look for a house...oh the life of a coach's wife!! We had a very good time and lots of fun visiting!
Sunday is an explaination of why Wes and I are married and why we get along so well. We read ALL. DAY. LONG. But I did manage to fit a shower in at some point.
We decided to join the world again on Monday, starting with a late breakfast at Waffle House, which was yummy and I am so glad I eat waffles now. Then we headed to Wade and Sherry's for lots of food, swimming and friends.
Wes and Sherry played a game of Horse Balls. It is always fun to watch them because they are both so competitive and argue with each other everytime. I don't even know who won but that was the only game played...
Wade and Sherry always go beyond when they have company. If I ever have to turn down an invitation to hang with them, I will be very sad! Such good friends. Wes and I are very very lucky.
We came home to Tyson and Kit, who were waiting by the door and so happy to see us, you would think we had been gone for days. They must have gotten used to us not leaving the house from Sunday. We tried to make it up to them so we all piled in bed and...READ!

Wipeout
Today I hit 32 weeks and I hit it hard. The past few months I have had the energy of a toddler and WHAM it is gone. My fingers are actually tired from typing this much...seriously. I cannot explain to you how much of a difference I feel. Everyone says it is normal though!!
So...yes, 7 weeks or less to go. Bring it. I am so ready but hope we can hold out to at least 37 weeks so Ivy will be full term.
Last Tuesday I went to the doctor because I had been having really cramps for 3 days. Surprise...I am having contractions! They aren't regular but do come and go all day and night and let me tell ya, I'm a big baby and they hurt.
Doctor wanted to make sure I wasn't in LABOR (freak me out), so he did a fetal fibronectin swab, which came back negative. So I'm good for a few weeks at least!
A positive result can indicate that a woman will go into preterm labor soon, but she may not go into labor for weeks so it isn't a good positive predictor. When the fFN test is negative, the result is a better predictor. A negative result means that there is little possibility of preterm labour within the next 7 to 10 days, and the test can be repeated weekly for women who remain at high risk. A negative fetal fibronectin test gives a more than 95% likelihood of remaining undelivered for the next 2 weeks.
Then he checked my cervical length which should be at least 3 cm and I was at 3.1 cm. It was crazy, we were looking at my cervix and Ivy's head is right against it. When he told me her head was right there, it kind of scared me for a second but since the fFN test is negative then we will be ok for a while. I go back to see him on Friday and was told to 'rest and take it easy'...ugh! I am tired but it is not easy for me to take it easy.
Ivy is just moving and moving, it is so cute and I can't wait to see the little arms and legs that make this big belly move!
I will try to do a better job at keeping the blog updated. I should have known it would be hard for me to do daily, who was I kidding.
Now, back to watching Wipeout. Is it bad that I'm laughing at these people? Cause it is totally how I feel...like I just fell in the mud trying to make it past the suckerpunch wall. At least I have my little girl to look forward to and not those big bouncy balls!
